One of the top keyboard manufacturers in the world, Cherry Corporation! You may see their switches in many pre-built keyboards from Corsair and/or Cooler Master. And now, better than ever, the hyperglides!

Hyperglide tooling improved the stem wobble, smoothness, and actuation life. These are the OG switches (red/brown/black), but with a new mold. Instead of 50 million actuations, it upgraded to 100 million, DOUBLE THE LIFE SPAN, basically.

Offering in Black & Brown variant for now!

Hyperglide Brown Switch Specifications:

  • 4mm Distance Travel
  • 45g Actuation
  • 5-pins
  • Tactile

Hyperglide Black Switch Specifications:

  • 4mm Distance Travel
  • 60g Actuation
  • 5-pins
  • Linear

Awesome switch, but didn’t use them by themselves

For a Cherry switch, I was expecting something along the lines of the MX Red you see in mainstream mechanical keyboards such as those offered by Corsair and HyperX, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how much better the tooling had become, the Hyperglide branding lives up to the name. Although they are nowhere nearly as smooth (stock) as some of their better known clones (Tangies, Lavenders, Hippos, you get the gist), they still offer a smooth-ish typing experience, one which is a welcome sight from super-smooth switches and the like. Although I did not end up typing on them for too long, I was able to turn them into Black Cherry Pies, a frankenswitch which (in my opinion) surpasses the sound of something like Creamsicles (which I made with the new batch of Tangerines, but there were clearance issues on some housings) and matches the thockiness of something with PE foam while using no foam itself. TL;DR they are an amazing switch, perfect for beginner use and even better for experienced veterans who are looking for a new typing experience. 9/10
