Description: Ultrasonic cleaned of factory lube. Applied 3 layers of RO-59tmKT dry lube (premixed by Ringerkeys) to bottom housing rails. Applied 4 coats to all four sides of stem. Applied additional layer of light GHv4 grease-oil wet lube (GPL 206g2 and 106 oil in a 10:3 ratio). Applied GPL 105 oil to springs. Mechanically actuated 100k on each side using off-center module break-in machine. Filmed with PC films. Spring swapped to 62.5g 22mm long KOS Ni-MO springs. <RO-59tmKT is a popular lube primarily used in the Korean keyboard community to improve smoothness and maintain a switch's signature sound. It is superior to the already popular wet lube in its ability to chemically bond to the surface of the plastic, essentially changing the material makeup to create a smoother surface. Due to this feature, RO-59tmKT outshines the acclaimed Krytox 205g0, Tribosys and Christolube alike in both durability and type feel. Note that diamond polishing leaves visible residue even afer cleaned with an ultrasonic machine and water pickers as demonstrated by Tofutypes. Each coat is applied and left to cure 24 hours before applying an additional coat. Krytox 205g0 grease alone is too viscous and deadens the original sound of the switch, therefore a light brush of GHv4 was used on all sides of the switch stem afterwards as it is less viscous but more effective to slightly round out harsh bottom and top out sound at higher speeds of typing. Use of a few hours on the break-in machine to evenly distribute the lube. Note that excessive break-in duration such as those used by certain vendors and switch modders (800k-1.2mil) introduces extensive housing wobble for minute improvement in smoothness. Filming is a viable way to combat this, but ultimately changes the sound of the switch be it using PC or Deskeys films.
